The SLIM program strives for students to graduate with an understanding of themselves and to identify with the information profession. SLIM expects students to develop the following professional values as they journey through the program and demonstrate these values upon completion. Appalachia is one of the more remote regions of the United States, and because of this, the receipt of technology and information is delayed.  This group wiki, Welcome to Appalachia, examined the diversity of the region and the impact this delay has on the inhabitants.

This analysis was done as part of a practicum, while working with the adult services department at TSCPL.  The collaboration, TSCPL Fee-Based Obituary Request System Analysis,  required professional behavior, while working, and was based on the needs of the client, TSCPL. 

Technical Services across the country are redesigning, eliminating, or outsourcing their departments.  This paper, An Examination of Factors Contributing to the Reorganization of

Technology is changing the way people learn and process information.  This presentation, The Changing Face of Libraries:  Implications for Learning in Electronic Environments, serves to examine how libraries can become involved to incorporate electronic environments to become current in today’s electronic world for both patrons and librarians.
